Delta-Phase Shakeouts

Carrier Delta-Phase shakeout machines efficiently shake out castings and reduce sand lump size. Our patented Delta-Phase shakeouts use a unique vibratory motion to separate sand from castings, allowing sand to pass through a perforated deck and castings to end discharge for further processing. These shakeout machines optimize the removal of sand by allowing precise adjustment of the angle of vibration, even when the machine is running.

Carrier Delta-Phase Shakeout Process Controls

The heart of the Delta-Phase Shakeout is the process controller. Using simple and reliable electronics, the Delta-Phase shakeout machine is able to precisely control the angle of vibration. This change in vibration angle controls the conveying speed and retention time of your castings on the shakeout deck, optimizing sand removal. You can accurately and automatically change this angle – even on the fly!

Castings that are difficult to shakeout can be run with a vertical vibration in order to impart maximum force into the casting to break up the bonded sand. On the other hand, castings that are fragile or are easily shaken out can be run with a forward conveying vibration angle to impart less force into them and get them off the deck quicker.

Casting Sand

Separate casting sand from metal castings and maximize sand removal while preventing casting damage. Applies controlled vibratory energy to separate casting sand from metal while promoting consistent material movement. Engineered motion improves sand removal and prepares recovered material for downstream reclamation.

Variable Sand-to-Metal Ratios

Automatically accommodates changing sand-to-metal loads while maintaining effective shakeout action. Delta-Phase® drive technology provides controlled material retention and movement across varying casting and mold conditions. Capable of processing extreme ratios ranging from as low as (5:1) up to (60:1).

Green Sand Molds

Adjustable vibratory motion breaks apart green sand molds and separates the sand from metal castings, forcing the sand through a perforated deck. This process maximizes sand reclamation while protecting delicate castings from impact damage. The reclaimed sand is routed back into the foundry’s system for reuse.

No-Bake / Chemically Bonded Molds

Separate castings from tough, chemically bonded sand molds. Gentle vibratory motion breaks apart rigid sand molds and allows the freed sand to pass through a perforated deck for recycling, all while preventing casting damage.

Iron, Steel & Non-Ferrous Castings

Heavy-duty foundry machines designed to efficiently separate sand from iron, steel, and non-ferrous castings. Engineered vibratory action efficiently removes sand while supporting continuous foundry production.

Lump Breaking
